NEW TO THE ZOO!

The hydrangea on my front walkway are starting to bloom.  They are still colorless, merely buds of white flowers bunched together to form a cluster.  Each day I walk by them and stop.  I stop to notice if color has been pumped into them.  I recall last summer being amazed that they seemed to have burst into blue balloons overnight.  This year I promised to watch the process.  Appreciate the beauty of the daily changes.  It seems the day the flowers have bloomed it instantaneously becomes summer.  My yard feels new with the bursts of blue highlighting the perimeter.  There is a new aroma in the air as I leave and arrive home.  New flowers appear on the bush each and every day.  Everything feels simply New.

 As we wrote in our last post, summer is the perfect time to revel in newness.  A time to try something new.  Find something new.  Feel renewed.  I remember my summers off at sleep away camp.  A new cabin.  A new bed.  New towels.  New friends.  And even though I went to the camp for 8 years and everything became familiar, each year, late in July, it was all new again.  The scent of the pine needles in the sand along the path to the waterfront and dining hall.  The smell of fresh carpenter’s wood as the new cabins began to be built.  The sounds of favorite camp songs heard out cabin windows and on faraway fields. The feel of never-quite-dry towels from morning drizzles and late night thunderstorms.  Sounds of whispers from top to bottom bunk campers way after lights went out.  Familiar. But always new.

Here at 3 Sprouts we’re also working hard toward new things.  Although we still LOVE the animals we’ve created and nurtured over the years and know that these friends are what make 3 Sprouts familiar to you... we know it’s time for something new!  We’re not ready to spill the beans yet.  We have a few weeks until they’ll hit stores and our website.  But we are ready for you to start thinking about what YOU think they might be.  What you would WANT them to be!  Who’s missing from our clan?
